Everything your IT, facilities and compliance people will ask about the Sentinel S1, in one place. No cameras, no audio recording, just air quality.
The Sentinel S1 is a ceiling mounted air quality detector built for the places cameras cannot go: bathrooms, dorms, guest rooms, changerooms and common areas. It reads the air continuously and sends an alert to your staff the moment a vape signature is confirmed.
| Detection | Vape signature; PM2.5 0 to 1000 μg/m³; TVOC 0 to 50 mg/m³; temperature; relative humidity; tamper switch |
|---|---|
| Alerting | App push notifications, adjustable threshold per sensor, on‑unit buzzer and status LED, reading history and alert log |
| Power input | DC 5 V via USB‑C, or PoE (IEEE 802.3af) via RJ45. The RJ45 port is for power only, not data. |
| Battery | Internal rechargeable, over 1500 mAh, more than 6 hours backup. Not user replaceable. |
| Standby current | Below 150 mA |
| Wireless | Wi‑Fi 2.4 GHz, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, channels 1 to 14 (standard). Dual‑band 2.4 / 5 GHz model available, specify at order. Bluetooth used for setup only. |
| Wi‑Fi security | WPA2‑Personal, WPA3‑Personal. WPA2‑Enterprise (802.1X) not supported. |
| Network traffic | Outbound only to the cloud platform. No inbound ports required. A few small readings per minute. |
| Multi‑unit setup | Bulk pairing supported. A full site can be commissioned from the app in one session. |
| Management | Multi‑tenant admin, per‑building structure, staff‑level access controls |
| Operating environment | −10 °C to 50 °C, up to 95% RH, non‑condensing. Indoor use. |
| Housing | ABS, white |
| Dimensions | Ø 135.8 mm × 33.3 mm |
| Weight | 247 g |
| Mounting | Ceiling plate, two screws at 118 mm spacing (3 mm screws and wall plugs supplied) |
| Environmental | RoHS, REACH |
What the detector needs from the network, in plain terms.
| Band | 2.4 GHz as standard. A dual‑band model that also joins 5 GHz networks is available, so let us know at order if your site runs 5 GHz only. |
|---|---|
| Security | A network with a pre‑shared password (WPA2‑Personal or WPA3‑Personal). On managed networks the unit is normally placed on a separate device or IoT VLAN with its own password. |
| Not supported | WPA2‑Enterprise / 802.1X (networks that ask for a username and password, including eduroam‑style networks). If your site only offers Enterprise Wi‑Fi, ask IT to provide a 2.4 or 5 GHz IoT network with a pre‑shared password for the detectors. |
| Firewall | Outbound HTTPS/MQTT to the cloud platform. No inbound rules, no port forwarding. |
| Bandwidth | Negligible. A few small readings per minute per unit. |
| Power without a power point | Any IEEE 802.3af PoE switch or injector. Run one Ethernet cable to the ceiling and the unit is powered. |
